Powervation is staffed by the world’s leading authorities in digital control and power technology. The team includes executives that held prominent positions at industry-leading companies, including: Analog Devices, National Semiconductor, Power-One, ON Semiconductor, Zilker Labs, Philips Semiconductors, Siemens, Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) and Cypress Semiconductor.

Foundations of Powervation:

Powervation’s technology was originally developed at the Circuits and Systems Research Centre at the University of Limerick, Ireland between 2001 and 2006. There is a long history power electronics design and research in Ireland, spanning more than 25 years where the ecosystem for excellence in power systems engineering was established by collaborative synergies between government sponsored, industry directed university research (under the Power Electronics Industry Group) and a cluster indigenous / multinational power systems companies. Companies such as Analog Devices, Texas Instruments, Commergy, Excelsys, Convertec, Maxim, On-Semiconductor, Power-One and others presently benefit from the favourble environment in Ireland for technology, government funding, engineering and operations. The founders of Powervation including Alan Dunne, General Manager and Karl Rinne PhD, Fellow; Power Architectures hold key technology, architectural and operational roles within the company.
